Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Ventureprise

UNC Charlotte actively supports innovation and entrepreneurship through initiatives designed for students, faculty, researchers, and the regional community. Our core programs include the NSF I-Corps Site, the 49er Foundry student business incubator, and the annual Charlotte Venture Challenge. Connect to these programs directly below. Or, explore our programs organized by visiting one of the tabs for Students, Faculty, Community, and Alumni.

Ventureprise organizes many of UNC Charlotte’s entrepreneurial initiatives. It is a non-profit venture development organization located in the PORTAL building. Ventureprise manages the I-Corps customer discovery program, operates the 49er Foundry, and manages the innovation center at PORTAL for 20+ early-stage, commercial ventures. Additional information about its history, staff, and programs is available at www.ventureprise.org.

UNC Charlotte was one of the first universities to sponsor a business incubator when, in 1987, it opened what came to be known as the Ben Craig Center. That early commitment continues through a much expanded effort led by Ventureprise and located in our contemporary PORTAL building. We invite you to connect with our entrepreneur and innovation support services.
