Have an idea for a program, social business or innovation? We want to hear from you

Ventureprise has partnered with UNC Charlotte's Student Organization, Global Business Brigades to host Idea Pitch. This is an opportunity for all UNC Charlotte students to showcase their idea and receive the tools and resources to work on their venture. We will be hosting 2 information sessions prior to the Idea Pitch to help students apply and develop their pitch. The 3 finalists selected at the Idea Pitch on April 3rd will be given 3 weeks of mentoring to prepare for the Final Student Pitch that will take place at the Charlotte Venture Challenge on April 30th, where they will compete for cash and other prizes.

information session announced! rsvp today

 tuesday, march 19th, 5:30pm @ atkins library, room 124

When is the Idea Pitch?

Wednesday, April 3rd

Who can apply?

The competition is open to all UNC Charlotte students

What do I need?

Just your idea! Have you identified a problem in your community? On campus? Are you looking for a way to get started? We have the tools and resources to help you begin your venture.

What if it is only me? Do I need to have a team?

Whether you are solo or have a group, we want you to apply. This is also a way to meet other like-minded students on campus- You may find a partner at an information session!

What if I don't have a product? Or a business plan?

You don't need those at this stage. This is an IDEA pitch. We want to hear about your idea. If you do have a some type of product or solution, that can be included as well- but you will be judged on the idea and your proposed solution. During the April mentoring sessions we will prepare you pitch to a larger audience, work through some type of minimal viable product and canvas your business model.

How do I apply?

Fill out the application here by March 29th at 11:59pm. You can also submit a video (under 90 seconds), but this is not required. The EZ Video Lab in Atkins Libray is a great resource, read more about that here.

Everyone will pitch on Wednesday, April 3rd (think 'American Idol' style) where 3 finalists will be chosen.

Idea Pitch 2019

For the competition, you will have 2 minutes and 30 seconds to pitch your idea to 3 panelists. Your pitch should include the problem you have identified, who it is affecting and your solution. Nothing fancy- we just want to hear about your idea and your proposed solution/innovation.

3 Finalists will be chosen. These finalists will then be awarded with mentoring and workshops throughout April to get you prepared to pitch at Charlotte Venture Challenge on April 30th. The Charlotte Venture Challenge is an opportunity to get in front of industry leaders and member of the Charlotte community .. and win cash and other prizes!
